Pompeii is the biggest
archaeological center of Italy and one of the most important
in the world.
In AD
79 the Vesuvius erupted engulfing the city and its inhabitants
with a terrible storm of cinders and ash. When the remains of
Pompeii were discovered around 1750 it looked as though a spell
had been cast to freeze all life. The bodies of people were unearthed
along with their houses, temples, works of art and everyday objects.
Pompeii is a visit you can’t miss, walking around the patrician
villas, the House of the Mysteries, the House of Vettii and the
House of the Faun. It is also possible to do a night-itinerary,
listening to magic sounds and voices while walking around the
domus or the temples. |
