Paestum is one of the
most important archaeological properties of Italy.
The visitor may first walk around the walls of the ancient city
and admire the fortifications (almost intact for a few modern
additions) which are one of the best conserved examples of ancient
military architecture.
The archaeological Museum preserves valued
materials that were found in the city, around the necropolis
and in the sanctuary dedicated to the Hera Argiva.
Of remarkable
importance are the Themple of Athena, the Diver’s Tomb,
the Amphitheatre. |
