Herculaneum
is an old town situated on the Gulf of Naples.
The town’s
quite existence was brought to an abrupt halt in AD 79, when
the eruption of Vesuvius that buried Pompeii covered Herculaneum
with a deep layer of lava and mud.
Very important are the
House with the Mosaic Atrium, the House of the Stags and
the House of Neptune. |
